While the newest Burrtec product Ratshut has been successful since its unveiling at NPMA’s PestWorld in October 2024, the company has announced that it is now launching a garage door bottom seal.

The existing Ratshut protects the sides and top of a garage – the new product protects the bottom.
It is a heavy‑duty solution designed to securely close the gap between your garage door and the floor, preventing rats, mice, and other pests from entering through one of the most vulnerable access points.
“It’s everything a homeowners or commercial business facility manager would need to protect their structure from rodents entering under a doorway, says Ken Arai, vice president of sales and marketing for Japan-based Burrtec. The company’s U.S. headquarters are in Los Angeles.
Designed with a dual‑lip (two‑lip) bottom weatherstrip, the Ratshut seal delivers a tighter, more effective seal against uneven garage floors. This two‑lip design enhances surface contact, improving pest control while also blocking drafts, dust, leaves, water, and debris from entering your garage.
Constructed from high‑quality soft PVC weather‑proofing material, the seal is flexible yet durable, resisting cracking, tearing, and damage from extreme weather conditions. The PVC construction ensures smooth and quiet garage door operation while providing long‑lasting protection in the residential environments.
Easy to install and designed for a precise fit, the Ratshut Garage Door Bottom Seal is compatible with T‑shaped retainers and fits 1‑3/8 inch and 2 inch door widths, making it suitable for most standard garage doors. Built to perform year‑round, it offers dependable protection, improved energy efficiency, and a cleaner, more secure garage.
All of Burrtec’s door sweeps including Ratshut can protect from rodent infestations, as well as stop dust, dirt, and pollen.
These products are available for consumers for residential use, as well. As the leading manufacturer of door sweep solutions, Burrtec is providing quality exclusion products to PMPs and building material suppliers.
